The weather during this time has a very special character: gently chilly air, light drifting rain, and soft mist that lingers through much of the day.

This slightly damp mountain atmosphere gives the landscape a calm and dreamy feeling. The forests, villages, and mountain paths appear wrapped in a thin layer of fog, creating the soft and mysterious scenery that has earned Sa Pa its familiar name — “the town in the clouds.”

It is also a time when nature slowly begins to change.

The peach and plum blossom season has just passed, and the trees are now entering a new stage of growth. Fresh green leaves begin to cover the branches, and tiny fruits are starting to form, quietly signaling the arrival of a new season.

In the gardens, the climbing roses of Sa Pa are also preparing for their moment. After resting through the colder months, they are slowly growing new buds, getting ready for the vibrant rose season that usually arrives in April.

The gentle moisture in the air seems to nourish everything around it. Trees become greener, gardens feel fuller, and the surrounding mountains appear even more alive, while still keeping the peaceful and quiet atmosphere that makes Sa Pa so unique.

This is a particularly beautiful moment of the year — when winter has not fully left, and spring is just beginning to arrive.

A soft, peaceful beauty that makes Sa Pa truly special.

March in Sa Pa often brings the final cool days of winter.
